Rapenburg Race: September 18th 2021

The third edition of the Rapenburg Race would have been swum on Saturday the 19th of September in Leiden. However, due to the unfortunate circumstances of the COVID-19 crisis, we had no choice but to cancel the race. Despite this, our team has been working hard on alternative methods to raise awareness for people with paraplegia. Therefore we presented to you the mini series ‘A Day In the Life Of’. Furthermore, an online symposium about living with a spinal cord injury will take place on the 6th of March in 2021 from 16:30-18:00. Stay tuned for more information. We also found a new date to swim the third edition of the Rapenburg Race! Join this event at September 18th 2021!

The first Rapenburg Race was organized in Leiden on the 23th in June 2018. The Rapenburg Race is an 800 meter swimming competition through the most famous canal in the Netherlands. In 2018, money was raised for educational projects for refugee children. The second edition was organized the 21st of September 2019. The money that was raised went to research to improve the quality of life for people with paraplegia. In 2020, the Rapenburg Race was going to place, but unfortunately this was cancelled because of COVID-19. Therefore, we started two alternative activities, the short series 'A Day In The Life Of!' and an online symposium. Do you want to know more about the Rapenburg Race? Check out our page about us!
